The salmon is a persistent creature, traveling hundreds of miles upstream, leaping over falls and obstacles while being pummeled by a constant barrage of water. This migratory process of salmon is shared with the primal instinct of skateboarding. Replace the streams with busy streets and the spawning grounds with skate spots and it begins to look similar, especially in the case of a local Grand Rapids skate spot and salmon pass: the Fish Ladder. The Fish Ladder Dunk Low is a nod to the uphill battle of both worlds. The shoes feature a material mash up consisting of faux fish scales and salmon printed suede alongside a custom Fish Ladder embroidered graphic and a clear salmon under sole.
